  The parking lots lights were off so at 6pm in December it was extremely dark in the parking lot and sidewalks coming up to the store. The store was sparsely stocked in the children's wear with some shelves and racks with only 4-5 item each on them. I asked for assistance looking for an item and the sales associate was pleasant. When I checked out of the store the card reader wasn't working properly and could only process debit cards/ credit cards through the chip reader at the bottom of device. They didn't know how to process the card manually so I had to go to another location get cash and come back...which happens but this is the second time I have had it happen at this location and the clerk stated it happens all the time if you don't have a chip in your card. When she called the manager she came down and said she seen it happen too. They both acted annoyed and one went so far as to roll her eyes at me...NOT great customer service. I asked the manager for the corporate number so I could find out if they would replace the reader or if I would need to plan on a cash only transaction in the future. The manager told me she wasn't going to give it to me if I wanted it I will have to find it myself. No problem I can do that, but after the rude behavior from the cashier and the manager I have decided I will not shop there in the future. The pricing at the store is higher than in a Meijer, Target or Walmart...but that is to be expected given the location of this Shopko is in a small town.
